Who are the people in your neighbourhood?

My mother-from-another-mother, Jo-Anne Finch, and most often seen at Catwalk, shared a Facebook post about someone new on the social scene, named Jordan Neufeld: NewsflashYQL

And my toy-collector friend, Levi Cox (who has all my vintage Power Rangers on his second floor museum), and who also is actually Jo-Anne’s son, is featured in this video at the very end.

I have no bloody clue who this Jordan is but he’s carrying a Lethbian Lover torch: going downtown and asking people three simple questions:

1. Where are you from?
2. What is something from Alberta that you love?
3. What is something exciting or entertaining that you’d like to share with us?

This is a social media boost for someone who seems cool, whom I have never met, but also carries a Nardwuar vibe. I kind of wish that I was in this video!

So, in lieu of that, I want to share some answers of my own:

1. I’m from Lethbridge, bred and born. Was born at St. Michael’s Hospital here. Anyone remember that?
2. Like the bougie dude (in the video) in the blue suit, I love being so close to the mountains. Seeing them over the horizon brings me joy. Waterton Lakes Nation Park is a treasure.
3. Nothing, really — that’s a glass half-empty, half-assed reply. That’s the point of this blog. It’s the people here.

Now ask my why I stay here? That’s a whole ‘nother question.
