The Saigonese is BACK
A long-time favourite in Lethbridge has been the Saigonese Restaurant, which unfortunately closed roughly around the onset of the pandemic. Now that we’ve made it to 2023, we’re happy to see an old favourite make a comeback.

It’s March 31, and we don’t know if that’s just a date or just another decade. Everyone has been stuck inside, and probably hasn’t seen many other humans in awhile (except when we stare suspiciously at each other at the grocery). If you’ve reached the end of YouTube, this post is for you.
Skip skipping the dishes, and eat your best life at home! Okay, maybe that doesn’t make much sense but many folks that I know are (re)discovering their love for cooking and baking during these times of social distancing.
While we’re not doctors, we have the internet. That makes us qualified enough to write a series about what you can do to during this pandemic to stay healthy, well fed and sane. Let’s start with the most obvious first: good hygiene, social distancing, flattening curve, and where to get help.
We had the opportunity to beta test Mocha Local last year. Now this locally-grown meal kit service and online farmer’s market is sating both wallets and appetites with locally-sourced ingredients.
If you’ve frequented the Telegraph Tap House, you’ll likely recognize Julius as a regular figure there. Not only is he a server at one of the finest taphouses in Lethbridge, but he’s a passionate author who wants to give back to his community.
We featured Liam back when he was only ten years old. Nearing a decade later, he still hones his blades (both knives and skates) to create culinary experiences and inspire youth to cook food using local ingredients.
Our very own Melissa is one half of Lethbian Love. She’s a yogi, mountain biker, my wife, and the manager for the Downtown Lethbridge BRZ Clean Sweep Program. She’s also the winner of the 2019 “Unsung Hero” award from the Celebrate Downtown event!
We interrupt our regularly-scheduled program to introduce you to Srećko Ponjavic, star of the Croatian reality TV show “Ljubav je na selu”. The show’s title roughly translates into “Love is in the Village”; a Bachelor cum Temptation Island dating show featuring farmers looking for love in all the wrong stables.
Who silently gets married in a comic shop and lets it spill to social media? The Lethbian Lovers do, that’s who.
We chose to have our wedding in the presence of the God of Thunder at Kapow, and we’d like to share some of that with you.
Although Lethbridge is situated on a prairie, it’s only a 2-hour drive from the Rocky Mountains in Alberta/British Columbia.
Waterton Lakes National Park is one of those very special places we enjoy yearly.
Rescue puppers are best puppers. We recently adopted a dog named Finnegan, and were able to support Windy City Canine Rescue and their efforts by doing so. We think you should too 🐶
There would be some who would want you to believe that a person from Lethbridge is not called a “Lethbian,” and those people are wrong.
But what do you call a person from Lethbridge?
In 2009, I was feeling a bit bummed. Maybe things were a little too mundane, and old man winter was wearing on me. That’s when I decided to start a blog that would end up meaning more to me than I’d have ever expected.
Over the years, I’ve seen the artwork of illustrator Eric Dyck spread itself around Lethbridge more fierce than the 2017 coulee fire. His style of art and humour is well-known in Lethbridge, and I wanted to introduce Eric to those who haven’t yet heard of Slaughterhouse Slough. Let’s get to know Eric.
Where do you go when you gotta go‽ When would you rather risk the dirty squirties? We’re collecting information on the best and worst places to shit in Lethbridge, and are seeking solid submissions!
