Oscillations Korg Kaossiltaor & Monotron Delay

So there was this one time where I was big on Twitter and it just so happened that I won a contest. Courtesy of the National Music Centre in Calgary, I won this weird music contraption called a Korg Monotron.

However my doppelganger, Bonnaventure James, also entered this contest and was insanely jealous. To the point that if I gave it to him, he would write a song in my memory. He actually makes music.

Starting as an experiment in digital composition for a music class at the University of Lethbridge, Bonnaventure James has evolved from “computer lab avant garde” in to a name in Alberta electronic music. Now, Bonnaventure James’ patented sound combines Pop, Electronica and New Wave in unexpected ways. Pushing pop songs to raucous and experimental new levels, crushing bits and dropping beats.

Small town, big party

Small Town Saturday Night

Foremost is a town in Southern Alberta, and are vying at a chance to win a "Big Valley Jamboree" of their very own, but need our help. We 'Bertans need to stick with one another. Lana writes:

Foremost (my hometown) is in the finals for the Big Valley Jamboree’s “Small Town Saturday Night” contest. It’s the only town in southern Alberta still in the competition and we have the chance to win “…a “mini” Big Valley Jamboree in one lucky rural Alberta community. All the excitement of the festival, including some of Canada’s finest country musical entertainers could be coming to YOUR small town!  We call it “Small Town Saturday Night,” you’ll call it “one incredibly unforgettable, amazing, mind-blowing experience!””
We’re in 3rd place, and in order to get moved up, we need some new people to vote for us. You can vote once per day from as many email addresses as you have. Please click the link and help us out J Proceeds from the event will be going to our local community rec centre (a Quonset that houses the ice arena, curling rink and swimming pool).

Movember Moustache Mitten contest wrap-up

Now that Movember has passed, I want to give big thanks to everyone who helped with my fundraising efforts! Personally, I raised $625 dollars! Cumulatively the LCSA team raised $2909 big ones. And we were treated to a complimentary hot shave by Tommy Guns (gentlemen, seriously treat yourselves to this).

So may I present Peter Joosten, owner of Euro Physical Therapy, as the winner of my Movember Moustache Mitten contest, sponsored by Edit : Stylish & Sustainable Accessories:

Also, @TRajcic27 won the pair of tickets for my Gala Parté contest. Congrats to you both!

Movember Moustache Mitten contest update #2. Only 5 days left!

Not including my collection box, I've so far raised $395 for Movember Canada! Thank you to all who have donated; you're helping support prostate cancer research and mens mental health.

For those just finding out, I'm also holding a Movember Moustache Mitten contest. Details of the contest are here.

If you haven't donated yet and would like to win a sweet pair of EDIT Moustache Mittens, not to mention helping out a good cause, head on over my Mospace! I'm part of the Lethbridge College Students Association team, and collectively we have raised over $1010.

Movember Moustache Mitten contest update.

Folks, we have 10 entrants in the contest, who together have raised $360 so far. A big thanks to those who donated!

I haven't received this much support since I dressed as a lady of the night, for Hallowe'en of course, getting big time pennies in my Unicef box. It was a little trying, but worth it.

Anyway, details of the contest are here.

If you haven't donated yet and would like to win a sweet pair of EDIT Moustache Mittens, not to mention helping out a good cause, head on over my Mospace! I'm part of the Lethbridge College Students Association team, and collectively we have raised $875 so far.

CONTEST! Donate to Movember and be entered to win a pair of EDIT moustache mittens!

My good friend Joanne has offerred up a pair of her famous EDIT mittens, as a prize for anyone* who donates to the Movember cause from my Mospace. Take a look at these beauts:

Why? Because my grandfather suffers from prostate cancer, and 1 in 7 men will be diagnosed with it each year. I feel that awareness for this type of cancer goes often unrecognized in the media and community, and want to bring it to the forefront of people's minds.

The way it works is easy. Go to my Mospace and click "donate to me" under my gaudy profile picture.

*The mittens retail at $45, so to qualify anyone who donates at least $20 will be entered to win. For every $5 above that amount, you will receive an additional entry. So basically, a donation  of $30 will get you 3 entries.

On my profile page, it lists the names of those who have donated to me. This is how it will officially be tracked, so anonymous donations won't work here.

So please, help raise vital funds and awareness for men's health, specifically prostate cancer and male mental health initiatives.

And keep your hands warm this winter 🙂

Contest winner will be decided December 1st.
