Who gets married in a comic shop? The Lethbian Lovers do, that’s who.
Wallie from Kapow let the cat out of the bag on Reddit:
A wedding ceremony is a must-have, legally binding agreement, and you can’t just walk up to city hall to get married. So we chose to have ours in the presence of the God of Thunder, adventurers, heroes, and our closest family and friends.
Our dream of an exotic elopement is still happening (don’t tell anyone), though it doesn’t mean we couldn’t have fun with what could have otherwise been a non-event to take care of some paperwork.
Speaking of paper, look at the awesome bouquet our friends helped us make out of comic books!
Thank you, Erin, Sara, Kelsey and Kallie for helping make this incredible bouquet! And bonus thanks to Funky Petals for adding the finishing touches to the boutonniere.
We got married after-hours in Kapow, and purposefully kept it simple and small. Wallie and Kallie opened their shop for us, and her mother Barb performed the ceremony while everyone looked on.
The ceremony was as nerdy as you can get, describing our love spanning Middle Earth, multiple dimensions, a zombie apocalypse and the singularity. We topped off the occasion with some bubbly, and our first (unplanned) dance as husband and wife:
Yes, we danced to Ocean Man.
Afterwards, we walked down the street in Downtown Lethbridge to the Telegraph Tap House to enjoy some deep fried pickles and craft beer. Nothing like finishing up a good adventure in a tavern.
Special thanks to Mia for capturing the event on camera and creating an amazing photobook!

“We are all a little weird and life’s a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.”
― Dr. Seuss
Now, we want to hear about your nuptials!
Did you have a quirky ceremony, or perhaps got married under a bridge? Leave you comments below and share your special day with us 🥰

I’m a webslinger located in Lethbridge, AB. I love all things nerdy, like cartoons and videogames, and am also a bit of a foodie. When I travel, I always keep my eyes out for hot springs and great places to adventure with my wife, Melissa.
Our ceremony was on top of the No1 Firehall. Also a great little small event on iconic building in our downtown.
I love this so much! My husband and I got married on our back yard deck, while our 1 and 3 year old ran around the yard in their diapers. Then we all ate Chinese takeout directly afterward with our nearest and dearest.
I love this too. My hubby and I also love nerdy things too. This would have been perfect. Such a unique and special wedding experience. We got married in a church, but what made ours unique was we had frozen music playing prior to the wedding starting. Then we excited the church to the song Everything is awesome. And last but not least we had a bacon bouquet toss for the single men.
